1. My father. Today, as we honor fathers, I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to my father for everything he has done for me. Sometimes I complain, and do not seem grateful, but I have immense thanks for what my father has instilled in me. I have lived a good life so far - I have never done drugs or had sex, and have stayed with the faith. Now, part of that was my mother's doings, but my father has had a big influence over my life as well, and that is why I honor him today (and everyday).
2. Our Father. And then there's the spiritual father - the Creator. He should be given as much, if not more, praise and honor today than our biological fathers. God brought us into creation, gave us the free gift of His grace, and wills us into continued existence.
3. The priests. As we approach the year of the priests, it is important to understand what a vital role they play in the liturgy and in our spiritual lives.
4. My godfather. This is an all-around great guy. He is anything but self-centered, and always looks out for the well-being of others. He's always been there when I have questions about theology, and, though he might not have all the answers, he's good company.
5. I got a new haircut. Granted, it looks like shit because it was done by people who can't freaking understand what the heck I want done with my hair, but I got a haircut nonetheless. Usually, I let my hair grow out over the summer, but because of my internship I felt the need to appear a little more professional than look like a shaggy dog. That, and they frakking shaved off my sideburns. NO! Whatever, I still look irresistibly attractive.
